Sidhharth Sahu Success Story Interview
1. Hello Sidhharth, can you start by telling us a bit about yourself and your journey that led you to DataMites?
Hi, I’m Sidhharth from Odisha. I completed my B.Tech in 2018 and had over two years of experience in marketing and sales. However, in 2020, due to the pandemic, I lost my job and found myself at a career crossroads. My elder brother played a crucial role during this time, suggesting that I explore data science, a field witnessing substantial growth.
Intrigued, I delved deeper and realized that data science involves mathematics and statistics, subjects I have always been passionate about. That was my eureka moment, and I decided to pursue data science. To kick-start my journey, I moved to Bangalore, where a friend recommended DataMites for its comprehensive data science training programs.
2. How was your learning journey at DataMites?
It was a really good learning experience at DataMites. What stood out for me was the institute’s commitment to providing hands-on experience and practical knowledge. The data science course was for 6 months where 4 months of classes and 2 months of data science internships and projects.
I finished a Certified Data Scientist (CDS) program and worked on projects before diving into an Artificial Intelligence (AI) course. Meanwhile, I also began going to job interviews. I am someone who consistently studies for 4 to 5 hours every day with full focus, but not more than that.
3. Who was your lead mentor?
Kalpana maam and Shubangi maam taught me in the Certified Data Scientist and Artificial Intelligence Courses respectively, and I really enjoyed their teaching methods. They are professionals in their fields and made sure I understood everything clearly. I had a great experience and owe a lot of my achievements in data science to DataMites.
4. What aspects in learning helped you crack job interviews?
While studying, I took detailed notes and reviewed video lectures and recorded sessions, which greatly benefited me. I realized that each company looks for specific skills when I started job hunting, so I carefully checked their job listings and studied accordingly. I went through 4 to 5 job interviews before finding the right match. The placement team at DataMites was a huge support during this time. They organized practice interviews, which gave me a clear idea of my strengths and areas to work on, helping me to better myself.
