1: Hi Teja! Could you start by telling us a bit about yourself and your background?
Teja: Sure! I’m from Chennai, and I completed my graduation in 2019. I was always interested in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. My uncle recommended DataMites, saying it’s one of the best institutes for AI and Data Science training. That’s how my journey began.
2: What motivated you to join DataMites for your Data Science course?
Teja: I was deeply curious about how AI works and how data drives intelligent systems. DataMites offered the perfect mix of practical training and expert mentorship, so I joined their offline classes in Bangalore.
3: How was your learning experience at DataMites?
Teja: It was excellent! The sessions were well-structured, and the mentors were very patient and knowledgeable. The Python foundation made it easier for me to understand advanced concepts like AI and Machine Learning algorithms.
4: Did you take online or offline sessions?
Teja: I chose offline weekday classes in Bangalore. The classroom environment helped me engage better with trainers and peers.
5: What topics or modules did you find most challenging?
Teja: The machine learning algorithms were initially tough for me. It took around 4–5 months to fully grasp them, especially neural networks. But once I understood how they work, it became one of my favorite areas.
6: How did you manage your studies while doing part-time work?
Teja: It was all about consistency. I used to attend classes in the morning, work part-time during the day, and study for about 2–3 hours every night. I believe that consistent effort matters more than long study hours.
7: What kind of projects did you work on at DataMites?
Teja: I completed two capstone projects, including one on fraud detection in banking transactions. I worked on them independently, researching and implementing solutions on my own. Those projects helped me immensely during my Infosys interview.
8: Did your DataMites projects help during interviews?
Teja: Definitely! The capstone projects were the highlight of my resume. Interviewers asked detailed questions about them, and explaining my project confidently made a strong impression.
9: How did you get your first job opportunity at Infosys?
Teja: It was an off-campus interview. Interestingly, it was my first interview, and I got selected! DataMites’ placement support and mock interviews prepared me very well.
10: How was the Infosys interview process?
Teja: There were three rounds aptitude, technical, and HR.
- The aptitude round was moderately tough.
- The technical round focused on Python, machine learning algorithms, and selecting the right algorithm for a given problem.
- HR was straightforward.
11: Did you receive placement or resume-building support from DataMites?
Teja: Yes, the placement assistance team (PAT) helped me create my resume, which I used for the Infosys interview. Their feedback made my resume more professional and job-ready.
12: What kind of work do you do now as a GenAI Engineer at Infosys?
Teja: I work in the AI Excellence Group, developing chatbots, automation solutions, and private language models similar to ChatGPT for top global clients. It’s exciting to see how companies are building their own LLMs (Large Language Models) today.
13: Did Infosys provide any GenAI-related training after you joined?
Teja: Yes. During the first three months, Infosys trained us in neural networks, LLMs, and AI automation tools, which helped us transition smoothly into project work.
14: What skills do you think are most important for AI professionals today?
Teja: Strong knowledge of Python, Machine Learning algorithms, and Neural Networks is essential. These form the base for working with Artificial Intelligence and GenAI models.
15: What advice would you give to freshers starting their Data Science or AI journey?
Teja: Be patient and keep practicing. Don’t get discouraged if you fail a few mock interviews. Each one builds your confidence. At DataMites, I failed my first three mock interviews, but those experiences made me stronger and prepared me for real-world challenges.
16: Where are you currently based?
Teja: I’m working from Electronic City, Phase 2, Bangalore at the Infosys campus. It’s a great environment for learning and innovation.
17: Any final message for DataMites learners?
Teja: Believe in the process. DataMites gives you everything you need knowledge, projects, and interview support. Just stay consistent and confident. Your hard work will pay off!
