Tinu Anjani’s Transition from Fresher to Data Analyst
From a computer science graduate to a confident Digital Media Analyst, Tinu Anjani's journey shows how passion, persistence, and the right guidance can shape a successful career in data analytics.
Q1: Why you choose Data Analyst with a Computer Science background?
Tinu: Though I studied computer science, I wasn't very confident in heavy coding. However, I’ve always enjoyed working with data—finding patterns, drawing insights, and understanding trends. That curiosity led me to choose a data analytics career, where I could combine logic and insight without relying heavily on programming.
Q2: Can you tell us more about the Digital Media Analyst role?
Tinu: My official joining is on January 20th, so I haven’t started yet. But generally, a Digital Media Analyst works with advertising-related data, analyzes it to identify trends and performance patterns, especially in the ad-tech domain. It's about making sense of large data sets related to digital campaigns and consumer behavior.
Q3: What tools are you currently comfortable with as a data analyst?
Tinu: I started with Advanced Excel, which is a great tool for pattern analysis. I'm also exploring Power BI, which is useful for creating interactive dashboards. I find Excel more intuitive, especially with my current level of hands-on experience, but I’m growing into Power BI as well.
Q4: How do you view the importance of SQL in the data analyst role?
Tinu: SQL is very important. Excel has its limits when it comes to handling large data sets. SQL helps manage and query big data efficiently. I believe even a basic understanding of SQL is critical for any aspiring data analyst.
Q5: What was your strategy to maintain work-life balance and learning as a fresher preparing for a career?
Tinu: For me, the key is setting priorities. I believe consistent daily learning is essential in this fast-evolving field. Even though I haven’t started working yet, I use my time to prepare, upskill, and stay hands-on. It’s all about managing time wisely and staying focused.
Q6: What would you advise freshers about building a strong resume in data analytics?
Tinu: Be honest. Only add skills and tools you're genuinely confident in. Practical experience and hands-on projects matter a lot. Don’t list something just because it looks impressive—interviewers will definitely test your knowledge.
Q7: How do you see the future of the Digital Media Analytics field?
Tinu: It’s booming! With the rise of social media and digital advertising, the demand for digital media analysts is growing rapidly. Every platform is collecting data, and companies want to analyze user behavior. I believe this field has a strong future—even AI won’t replace it completely.
Q8: What’s the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in your journey so far?
Tinu: Just keep trying. Never give up. If you think you can’t do something, you probably won’t. But if you believe in yourself, you’ll definitely get there. Confidence is everything.
Q9: Can you share a memorable experience with DataMites Institute?
Tinu: Absolutely. Coming from a small town, I didn’t have access to many institutes. I found DataMites Institute through Google reviews. The best part was how they helped me choose the right course based on my background. Javid from DataMites Institute guided me perfectly. Instead of selling just any course, they personalized it, which I really appreciated.
Q10: Where do you see yourself growing in your role as a Digital Media Analyst?
Tinu: I see a long-term future in this role. With the growth of digital marketing, the opportunities are endless. Even if challenges come, I believe in picking myself up and pushing forward. I want to keep learning and scaling higher positions in this domain.
Q11: Any final advice to students or job seekers in the data analytics field?
Tinu: Don’t get disappointed if things don’t work out immediately. I got a job just three months after graduation, even in challenging times. Confidence, hard work, and patience are the keys. Believe in your journey—sometimes, delays mean a better opportunity is on its way.
