Q) Hello Sangeetha, could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hi, I am Sangeetha and I am a DataBase architect with over 20 years of expertise. I worked for seven years in the United States and a year in Australia. For the past ten years, I’ve been locked in the role of database architect.

Q) How did you become interested in data science?

I felt a power inside of me telling me that this was not the place for me to settle down and that I needed to do more. My husband always pushed me to pursue what made me happy, and he was the one who suggested data science to me.

Q) So how did you land in DataMites?

I had no desire to enrol in a typical institute. I decided to put my time and money into the one that had industry-connected trainers with a lot of entrepreneurship expertise. I was fortunate enough to meet Ashok sir, and that was the start of my data science career.

Q) How was the experience at DataMites?

My experience at DataMites was incredible. I learned a lot from my mentors, and within a year of joining DataMites institute and continuing to learn, I had bounteous subject knowledge. After the training, I cleared approximately seven rounds of interviews at a corporation, but the offer was put on hold owing to the pandemic. Following that, I went through nine rounds of interviews at Fidelity and was eventually promoted to Director of Data Analytics.

Q) What is the best way to succeed in a data analytics career?

To begin, you must be familiar with all of the terms used in data science. Within the subject of data science, there are various career paths you can pursue; therefore, select the proper path for you and master the fundamentals of that field. Depending on the job level you want to achieve, you can develop a more comprehensive skill set. You should be aware that learning is a never-ending process; there is never enough information to learn.

Q) What are the learning approaches you chose in data science?

The key starter in data science is Ashok sir for me. He taught me the fundamentals of data science. I took Ashok sir’s words seriously and carefully listened to him and his lessons. He is the best mentor a person could have. I genuinely tried to correlate my responsibilities over the course of my 20-year career in data science, and that’s how it all came together so smoothly for me. I knew data engineering would be a better fit for me than deep learning, natural language processing, or business analytics. Indeed, changing careers isn’t as simple as it appears.

Q) Before getting into data science is it necessary to identify a specific industry to work on?

First and foremost, determine which domains pique your interest; data science is a vast subject with several applications in a wide range of sectors. Make your CV as appealing as possible, and organise your story in a compelling way. Your resume should be self-evident. When the employer recognises the value of your profile and understands how much it is worth, they will pursue you. You can certainly move domains, as I did, but the key is to understand the business.
