Q1: Could you please introduce yourself and tell us about your professional background?

My name is Uma Kitu, and I am currently working as a Team Leader in Claims Administration at a leading health insurance organization under the Damana Group in Bahrain. I have more than 15 years of experience in the health insurance sector.

Throughout my career, I realized that data plays a crucial role in solving business challenges and supporting better decision-making. This realization motivated me to learn Data Analytics and later Artificial Intelligence to enhance my professional capabilities and stay updated with industry trends.

Q2: What inspired you to join DataMites and pursue AI and Data Analytics?

My journey with DataMites began after attending an AI seminar conducted by Mr. Ashok Veda. The way he explained Artificial Intelligence concepts in a simple and practical manner impressed me greatly.

Although I came from a completely non-technical background, I was confident that I could learn these technologies through DataMites' structured approach. With the growing demand for Data Analytics Delhi professionals, I enrolled in the AI Engineer Program to upgrade my skills and advance my career. 

Q3: How was your learning experience with DataMites?

My learning experience was excellent. Since I work and live outside India, flexibility was extremely important for me. DataMites provided recorded sessions whenever I missed live classes due to work commitments.

The trainers, support team, and relationship managers were always available to assist whenever I needed help. Their quick responses and continuous support made the learning journey smooth and enjoyable.

One of the aspects I appreciated most was the structured learning methodology. Every topic was introduced step by step, making it easy even for non-technical learners to understand complex concepts.

Q4: Did you have any prior experience with programming before joining the program?

No, I had absolutely no technical background before joining DataMites. My entire career was in health insurance.

I learned Python for the first time through the DataMites program. The trainers explained every concept in a simple and practical way that made learning accessible for beginners like me. The program never felt overwhelming because concepts were introduced gradually and clearly.

Today, I have successfully completed multiple Python projects, and the knowledge I gained is helping me in my current role.

Q5: What challenges did you face during your learning journey?

Statistics was one of the most challenging subjects for me initially. Since I came from a non-technical background, understanding statistical concepts was difficult at first.

However, the trainers explained the topics clearly and patiently, helping me build confidence over time. Whenever I struggled with a concept, I revisited the recorded sessions and study materials available through the LMS platform.

This continuous revision helped me strengthen my understanding and successfully overcome my challenges.

The projects played a significant role in my learning journey. I completed four capstone projects and one client project during the program.

Today, when management requests information, I can provide visual dashboards and performance metrics that enable faster and more informed decision-making.

The program has helped me think differently and approach data from a strategic perspective.

Q8: How do you see Artificial Intelligence influencing your industry?

AI is rapidly transforming every industry, including health insurance.

For me, AI has changed the way I think about business problems. Instead of focusing only on current operations, I now analyze trends and future possibilities.

The knowledge I gained in Data Analytics, Data Visualization, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence enables me to identify patterns, forecast trends, and contribute to automation initiatives within my organization.

AI has expanded my perspective and improved my ability to support business growth.

I primarily relied on the study materials, class notes, recorded sessions, and Google Drive resources provided by DataMites.

I did not refer to external materials because the curriculum was comprehensive and well-structured. Following one learning path helped me avoid confusion and stay focused on mastering the concepts taught during the program.

Q10: What advice would you give to aspiring Data Analysts?

My advice is simple: never stop learning.

Technology evolves rapidly, and professionals must continuously upgrade their skills to remain relevant.

I also strongly recommend working on multiple projects. Completing a course alone is not enough. Practical projects help you gain confidence, strengthen your data analyst skills, and make your resume more attractive to employers.

When preparing a Data Analyst resume:

  • Highlight practical experience.
  • Demonstrate your technical skills.
  • Continuously update your knowledge with emerging technologies.

Projects often speak louder than certifications because they demonstrate your ability to apply what you've learned.

Q11: What are your future plans?

After successfully completing the AI Engineer Program and earning certifications from IABAC and NASSCOM, I am planning to continue my learning journey.

I am interested in pursuing the Master Program at DataMites to deepen my expertise in Artificial Intelligence and stay aligned with the latest technological advancements. Continuous learning remains my primary goal.
