Q) Rauful, could you tell us a little about yourself? And how did you hear about DataMites in the first place?
I have a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a specialization in computer science. I was utterly unsure about what I should do with my job after finishing my degree. That’s when I chose to go with the most popular ‘data science.’ I began looking for data science institutes and discovered DataMites to be at the top of the list.
Q) As a data scientist, what are your current roles and responsibilities?
I got a job as a data scientist in Diatoz: Digital A to Z Solutions, which is a start-up company that was started in 2018. I had the opportunity to work on projects involving machine learning and artificial intelligence.
Q) How was your learning experience using DataMites?
I enrolled in DataMites’ certified data scientist program. The training is tailored for newcomers like myself, and joining DataMites gave me a lot of exposure to the subject, which helped me advance my career in the field.
Q) What is your learning strategy to become a data scientist? What resources did you find to be most useful?
Joining DataMites provided me with a route to follow. I paid close attention to what my DataMites instructors said in each class. Assume they took a linear regression or machine learning class. To have a better understanding of these concepts, I began googling various facets and applications. I looked for videos on YouTube about the themes.
I also looked at numerous job descriptions for these jobs, recognizing the abilities that employers were looking for in candidates and attempting to instill them in myself. Making my projects as one-of-a-kind as possible to stand out from the crowd was my strategy.
Q) How long did it take you to prepare for the interview? Please tell us about your experience.
The interview procedure is divided into four parts. The first is a telephonic interview, in which the interviewer will ask for an introduction and project specifics. After that was a video testing round, where the interviewer asked me about python and Pyspark. The third round was more technical, with questions regarding machine learning, neural networks, python, and deep learning, as well as in-depth questions about how my project proceeded and what I did. The HR round is the final phase, in which your personality is assessed. You will be judged on your abilities and knowledge.

Q) Through which channels did you apply for a job?
I had made profiles on LinkedIn, Naukri, Indeed and Edyst.com. My application was shortlisted through Edyst.
Q) Which aspect of the DataMites Course was the most beneficial to you?
DataMites’ trainers are experts in the field, and they thoroughly explain everything in great detail. The DataMites course aided me in every aspect. Ashok sir had taught us statistics, and he did an excellent job of covering all of the concepts. Python and machine learning were two other topics taught by Suhail sir that I thoroughly loved learning.
Q) Now that you’ve successfully transitioned into a data science field, what advice do you offer to prospective candidates?
My advice to all aspiring data scientists is to begin applying for jobs from the very beginning of your learning course. Make a point of applying for at least five jobs on each employment portal. As you gain new abilities and competencies, continue to improve and change your resume. One method that could help you be shortlisted is to modify your CV to match the job requirements. Make sure to take on projects that will set you apart from the herd.
